On Wednesday I decided to go back to Flower Town and have a look around the museum that is there. (I also wanted to take a few photos I couldn’t take last time because it looked dodgy if a 22 year old guy takes photos of 6 year old girls playing) However, Wednesday was so hot, that I decided to take the train instead of walking.
First up on the reunion tour was the amphitheatre. I didn’t feel that the last photo gave the right sense of how big it is. So I took more.
Next up was a playground I quite liked the look of last time I was walking around, of particular note I think is the slide which twists around itself. Last time I was here there was a steady stream of kids waiting to slide down it, and you know, taking a photo of that would have been odd. So here it is in its kidless glory.
Also at this playground, and eerie group of overgrown creatures.
On the way to the museum I found more of the hedge spiders. Wasn’t going to take any photos, and then this caught my eye.
I’m not sure if the lizard ate the spider, or if the spider was eating the lizard. But either way it was weird, and creepy.
I also managed to get a video of the strange pyramid sculpture moving in the wind. I think it’s a really nice sculpture, theres a plaque that I think says it was made in 1998.
After that I went to the museum at Flower Town like I intended. As I was going in there was a large school group coming out, maybe three or four classes. Lots of them wanted to talk to me. The conversations went something like this.
Them: “Hello”
Me: “Hello”
Them: “hehehehe”
The museum itself was kind of cool, they had a mammoth skeleton downstairs, and an elephant skeleton upstairs. There was an area with lots of trees and models of ants attacking another bug. The real creepy part was right at the entrance where they had the display of beetles. Some of the beetles they had were gigantic, and if I saw one in the bush I sure wouldn’t be sticking around to talk.
After the museum I spilt some drink on myself while walking up the steps, and then caught the train home. Before I did though I took this photo of the building where I work so that Mum can see it.
How hot is it anyway? Based on the look of the sky in those pictures, it appears to be anything but that.
Speaking of the slide, who in the right mind would slide down THAT? It’s too high, has that bump in the middle… unless you’re asking for extreme butt pain..
Oh, thats not cloud. Ok, so maybe thats a little bit of cloud. But the clouds seem to be more constant here due to the pollution.
Even though it was cloudy, in some ways that made it worse because instead of plain old heat, it was humid, and muggy (http://www.cafepress.com/twbmshop.51898632). In Osaka on the day I took those photos it hit 30, I’m sure Sanda was at least that hot. Add in the humidity, and you didn’t want to be too far away from an air conditioner. No wonder the lizard was sleeping.
And whats up with the stealth commenting? Too cool for AIM now?
Next time you see a lizard and a spider together, you had better take a video and commentate it, and introduce it as Lizard VS Spider, Natures Ultimate Challenge.
Also, good call on not taking photos of six year old girls. You could be sending the wrong message to Japan that you identify with the millions of Japanese men who love school girls.
Thankyou for the photo of your work and I agree with you the spider and lizard was just yuk!!!!!!!
