Andrew + Japan = Awesome

So this post might just be of interest to Neil, feel free to skip it, I won’t be offended.

A few weeks ago, a new drink was released here in Japan. The Final Fantasy Potion. A similar drink was released last year in Japan, but it came in a funny blue bottle and apparently tasted terrible. This time around they got the taste a little better, and got rid of the novelty bottles in favour of around 20 different can designs.

Every convenience store and every supermarket had large boxes full of these cans, and always after a day or two the boxes were empty. I saw one Japanese man buy an entire box of these. So I bought one, and choosing from the designs the store had, I ended up with Cid Highwind.

The taste was somewhere between Mountain Dew and Dekavita (a drink here that has a distinct medicine taste but is one of the closest things to an energy drink Japan has). And the drink itself was a bright yellow color. Luckily it was in an opaque can.

One thing I liked was this little icon on the back, thought it was very Kingdom Hearts-y.
