I thought I had posted this, but apparently I hadn’t. Before I left Sanda, one thing I did was visit Osaka Castle. It was a beautiful day when I visited, and I must have had ten bottles of Aquarius. One thing that disgusted me was that I bought an Aquarius outside the castle for 150 yen, but as soon as I got inside the castle, the same bottle cost me 160 yen.

After passing the valley of fields, the building where you can buy manga while your car is repaired, and the pachinko parlor, I finally reached a sign that claimed Flower Town was a mere 0.6km away.
After my three almost deadly encounters with wildlife, I eventually emerged into a vast valley which seemed to be solid rice fields from one side to the other. There were a few small houses, and even a man working in one of the fields.

Last week I went to Aeon (the large mall on the outskirts of Sanda, technically in Kobe) because I needed a cable for my computer. I got my cable and went to the bus stop to wait for the bus. When we last left our hero he had just emerged victorious from the Osaka Aquarium, after an encounter with a genuine whale shark, a manta ray, and a legion of spider crabs. Now, the continuation…
This entry is going to be an intermission of sorts. Before I talk about what I did after going to the aquarium, I want to draw attention to something that truly amazed me when I saw it. I hope you will be similarly captivated.
Last Wednesday I made the trek into Osaka to tick a few things off my list of things to do before I leave Sanda. I took loads of photos and did quite a bit, so I’m going to split it into several separate posts, hopefully over the next few days.
Best thing about Japan so far? Fireworks. Despite the near unbearable heat that insists on coming back day after day, this time of year is when Japan has many festivals, all with fireworks displays that seem to get better and better as Summer moves on. This Wednesday I went to Fukuchiyama with Mayumi. Fukuchiyama is about an hour and a half north from here on the JR train line.
